Das Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument liegt an der Grenze zu Mexiko. Es ist eines der artenreichsten Wüstengebiete.

Neben einer Vielzahl anderer Pflanzen sind hier 29 Kakteengattungen beheimatet, darunter der riesige Orgelpfeiffen-Kaktus, nach dem der Park benannt ist.
Zwei unbefestigte Ringstraßen führen tief in das Wüstengebiet hinein. Diese Straßen sind bei vorsichtiger Fahrweise auch mit dem normalen PKW befahrbar.
Die ganze Vielfalt der Sonora Wüste bringen einem die ausführlichen Wegbeschreibungen nahe, die für ein paar quarters beim Visitor Center zu erstehen sind.

Because of the different vegetative zones of the Sonoran Desert the monument exhibits an outstanding variety of plant life - not only Organ Pipe Cactus but also Saguaro, Ocotillo, Palo Verde, Prickly Pear, Chain-Fruit Cholla, Ironwood and many more.
