Superstition Mountains (AZ)

'Superstition Mtns.' ... NO PICTURE ? ... PLEASE DROP ME A MESSAGE !

* Superstition Mountains, east of Apache Junction, were named for the many legends surrounding them. The fabled Lost Dutchman Gold Mine lies somewhere in these Mountains. Wether the mine really exists is uncertain, but at least eight men were killed because of it and many others have died searching for it.

Apache Trail, this 78-mile road parallels the ancient route of the Apaches through the canyons of the Salt River with its desert scenery. It climbs past the famed Superstition Mountains, passes through Fish Creek Canyon and skirts the southern edges of Apache, Saguaro, Canyon and Roosevelt Lakes and ends at Globe.
