A region of unusual beauty,
Yosemite National Park
, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, lies
on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada. The crest of the Sierra Nevada
is the park's eastern boundary. Water and Glaciers formed the rolling hills
and meandering streams into the collosal landscape of the present.
The park is much greater than most visitors generally realize. Every visitor's
goal is Yosemite Valley, perhaps the best known example of a
glacier-carved canyon.
Some more geological wonders not to miss: Glacier Point, El Capitan and Half
Dom.
